INTO THE LIGHT PRODUCTIONS

Edie’s love of people led her to become a cosmetologist for 31 years, a playwright, an author, and a Life coach. Both her logical and creative sides are demonstrated in her works. This balance produces an unusually imaginative, quirky, and pensive personality—a true ambivert at heart.

She is naturally comedic, allowing her to find hope, and laughter, during troublesome times. Over 30 years of writing, directing, and working with others has given her the ability to see the beauty and depravity of humanity: making her insightful and relevant. 

Light in the midst of darkness is her favored theme, but comedy always finds its way in her productions, in a big way!  The joy of entertaining, community, and the Bible inspired her to attain a BA in Theology and a BA in Communications/Theatre. She plays the comedic character, Mableanne JohnsTon, (an older, comedic, tell it like it is, southern church lady) in all her stage productions. 

 

Edie’s is the founder and CEO of her own Non-Profit theatre company, Into The Light Productions, where she delights in creating stories that teach and inspire change, as well as bring entertainment and joy to families. 

Her productions include: The Courtroom (God’s forgiveness and Grace), The Christmas Blessing Dinner Theatre (Power of Faith and Family), The Gift (Meaning of Christmas), Kingdom (Focus on the effects of Fatherlessness), Good Like Medicine 1 and 2 (Nights of Crazy Comedic skits), ‘Believe’ Fundraiser (Dramatic Dinner Theatre focusing on the changed lives of biblical characters), The Christmas Spectacular (Showcasing Community talents and skits with Christmas themes), Love & Laughter Fundraiser (Evening of comedy, starring Mableanne JohnsTon, and Nostalgic live music). 

 

She has also performed, spoken, and taught theatre at Scholarship banquets, Back to School events, Youth programs, and Women’s speaking engagements. She also writes short plays, poems, spoken word, and other creative works for various occasions.  She is the author of ‘God In Every Moment’ and the ghostwriter of ‘Not Bargained For’.

Edie has been married to Dr. Charles Bowman for 31 years, is mother to 3 daughters, Jazzmin Bowman, Tatiana (Alexander) Hartman, and Autumn Bowman. She is “Nana” to 2 grandchildren, Alicia and Allen Bowman.
